Full Version: HP B9180 printer - how far should I go?

I recently installed an HP B9180 for printing at home and want to get more involved in B&W printing. I can get some decent prints using the limited grays that are a part of the B9180, but I was wondering how much I would gain by setting up some grayscale ICCs, as mentioned in Amadou's book, or by calibrating for extended grays using PrintFix Pro? Are these approaches a case of "overkill" for the limited B&W inkset in my printer?

Thanks,
Dave

As far as PrintFix Pro, the extended grays feature is meant for printers that use 3 or more black/gray inks at the same time. Fewer than 3 and even Colorvision will not recommend it for optimal output.
