I'm very much a beginner to B&W and photography is a hobby to me, not a career (at least just now
Anyone here using the Ultratone 2 inkset from MIS? I've been using it for a few months, but not sure I'm getting the full potential out of it. I run an Espon 1290 printer with a CIS setup. I typically print on Ilford Gallerie glossy or luster papers.
Workflow:
Typically, I convert my RAW canon files using Bibble and do most of my image adjustments, including Greyscale conversion, there (I do not own Photoshop CS yet). I send a 16bit Tiff to Qimage for cropping, page layout and re-sampling for printing. Then use Qimage to "Print to file" and use QuadToneRip to do the actual printout., using the ink/paper profiles that come with QTR.
I like the results generally. Is there anything I can do to improve the results without getting more complexity in the workflow?
Thanks,
Mike.
