The book goes to some length to educate the reader on the subject of image longevity. But I don't recall seeing any discussion of the use of clear preservatives such as UV-inhibitory varnishes. I've been using Golden's Gloss spray on my canvas inket prints (actually makes the surface look more like oil paint) to prevent damage from fingerprints and such. Yes, I know, such coating lighten (gloss) or darken (matte) the image, but I read my profiles after coating the patches.

I'm curious to hear what other people are doing in this area. And any opinions on the longevity of such preservatives and the effect they have on the longevity of the images. Wilhelm does not appear to have any opinion on this subject.
