This looks like it will turn into a nice forum!
I've finally figured out how to color manage my printing from PS Elements for color (namely, editing in the regular Elements editor, but printing only from the viewer, which prevents applying multiple profiles). However, it seems that printing B&W works best directly from the editor, and selecting Enhanced B&W in the printer menu.
Anyone have similar experience? I'm pretty happy with the 2400 B&W done this way, but I'm not sure if it's the optimum method.

I have to admit I've never used Elements so can't comment directly on your issue. Perhaps others who use the software can chime in. One sore point for many with Epson's Advanced B/W driver mode is that you cannot color manage the printer's output (without buying additional hardware and software). On top of that there's a million variables that come into play, so without specifics it's hard to suggest anything. But if your current solution works for you, and you don't need any outside printing labs or service providers to match your output, don't stress over it. Wait until you're dissatisfied with some aspect of the result and then you can start to explore other options.

I have used the Advanced B&W printing choice with my new Epson R3800 printer with K3 inks, and I loved the results ! I use Photoshop CS3 but I am happy to let Epson manage my black and white printing if I get these kind of results with a black and white print, it was stunning to me, and I was quite happy. I used Epson Prem. Glossy paper for this. I will continue to use this Advanced B&W option from Epson, those K3 inks are wonderful ! I also printed a yellow tulip with orange and green in the background, and the colors turned out stunning as well(used Photoshop managing the colors, and I do have a hardware calibrated monitor, a must). I'm very pleased, glad you are, too with your Epson and the Advanced B&W option,
